|
I have a recipe i use for raisin rolls or whats called here Rosin Bollar. Its pretty much traditional here as far as it can be found just about in any gas station, store or someones kitchen table. I make my own, only because its so easy to do.
50g yeast
2dl warm milk
2T sugar
1/2 t salt
1 egg
2T yogurt or kefirmilk
8-8 1/2 dl of flour
1/2 of a coffee cup of raisins
mix yeast an warm milk together good. add sugar, salt, yogurt and egg an mix good, using a wire wisk, not a hand mixer. when blended, start to add the four, using the wisk, eventually use hands an kneed into a very soft dough, if its still sticky use a little more flour. add raisins. cover an let stand for 1/2 hour or more until doubled. punch down an kneed again. recipe maked 16 rolls but i usually get only 13. make balls out of the dough an let stand till doubled, about 15 minutes or so. brush with egg white before putting into oven. heat oven to 225-250 deg C. I use about 235 deg C. Its a very hot oven so watch the rolls carefully because they bake an brown very very fast. bake 10-15 minutes or until tops are golden brown.
Glaze
I have no measurements
powdered sugar
milk
almond essence or flavoring
put the powdered sugar into a small bowl, add about 9 drops of essence, an milk a teaspoon at a time until thick but will run off the spoon,, when the rolls are still very warm, drizzle glaze over an enjoy!
I serve with jam or butter on the side. but best eaten plain,,and warm.
