lol,,,I sympathize with you Netty,,lol. Balder always goes into "No dog land". every morning i have to kick him out of the bed, he sneaks in after we get up. I go to make the bed after Kolbjørn leaves for work, an theres Balder. As far as the couch goes, i have a blanket that i lay on the end of the couch, and when the blanket is up, Balder knows he can come up too. (since he thinks he only weighs like 10 lbs or 5 kilos, reality he is 157 lbs or 80 kilos) he thinks he's a lap dog, and wants to lay on one of us when we sit.

ohh my goodness,, i don't mean kick as in real kicking,, geez i'm sorry about that. i should say i have to beg him out of the bed, since he's so comfy an won't move. but he listens very well. an after stretching, an yawning,, he will move....lol.

Biita, Balder sounds like a handful. ANd he is so big.
I sort of have the same problem, except it is my little one, Snoopy, a small maltese poodle that weighs only 3 kg. Him I just pick up after a tummy rub. In fact he does the same thing that Boomer does - belly up - when on the bed.

Absolutely... on the furniture and in the bed!!! She is a loving little creature and thinks she's a 'people'.Gives me lots of comfort. So intuitive and keeps me warm at night

we usually don't allow the dogs on our bed. But our new sheltie we just adopted give me a surprise when he jump up on my bed last nite. Now ya hve to understand that he still is getting used to us and hasn't jumped on anything before last nite. I will have to get pictures of him soon.
Your dog looks soooo cute laying there on the couch.

Oh yes, there was a scramble once she realized she had been caught! I'm glad I was able to get that picture as it WAS kind of cute. I guess she forgot I was home...

When we first got Rambo we noticed he never tried getting up on the furniture. We got him from a rescue group, his elderly owner had died leaving no one to take care of him. She evidently let him sleep with her cause in exploring his new home he jumped up on both Amanda's bed and ours but when he realized they moved (we have waterbeds) he jumped down and hasn't tried it again.
I found him on the sofa one morning about a week after we got him and ignored him so he knew it was okay to be there.
He has his own bed...and the three human chairs in the livingroom and divides his time between them.

No, Chance doesn't get on furniture or the bed. She has her own beds. She is our first inside dog. The others all had houses outside. dooley
