Thanks Netty. I have to wonder sometimes, how many owners chip had. Its evident that somebody has taught him a few things. He can shake paws w/you. He rolls over while playing. Its funny to watch him in our dining room area, he'll trot all around the table as if in a dog show. And when I take him out for his walk, he almost always stays on my left side. Should his leash get caught under his leg, he will stop in place until I fix it. I have so much fun playing with both dogs as they will both get barking. As time goes on he becomes a much happier dog.

This reminds me of a friend years ago who adopted a Collie from the pound. The dog was nervous around men and quick movements and appeared to be untrained. As they found out weeks later when a friend came to visit, the dog was completely trained in ITALLIAN! She also knew hand signals. The dog turned out to be a great addition to their family.

Petunia, our dog Deputy (Yellow Lab.) was with another family for his first 7 years, and has been with us now for 8. There was a definite adjustment time, but after a month or so, when he new he was going to stay with us, and we were good folks, he came to be the best dog one could ask for. Just show him plenty of love, and that he can trust in you, and he will adopt you, as you have adopted him.
Tom

Thankyou Netty. We see a change in chip every week. he's beginning to be much happier. He's now wagging his tail and runs around to play.

Glad to read that this is going so well,
Chip sounds like a wonderful fur-baby. Very Happy
