|
This is our new adopted member. His name is chip because he actually has a chip planted in him so that it can be scanned, should he ever run away or gets lost.
But whoever had him never had it registered, so we will be able to put our name there, so he'll be able to be returned back to us if he gets lost.
He's a full sheltie, so he's just a bit bigger then our mini sheltie. Here they are together so you can see their sizes
Its taking a while for him to get used to us. He doesn't like my son. And still getting uses to my husband. Its so hard to know what the owners put this dog through-when he shys away from men, also loud noises. But even with this he's such a good dog.
He's starting to want to play, especially when we come home from being away-he's so happy to see us.

He's lovely! He'll probably need to get used to you, and understand that you're his family now. I do like the chips, it makes things very easy for us "stray-magnets".
Our tomcat is also afraid of men and loud noises, we don't know why either.

Awww, Chip is a very handsome fellow!
It does take a good deal of patience sometimes,
to let a new fur-kid settle in and learn to trust everyone.
You're right, it's hard to know what he's been through,
I'm so glad that he has such a warm and loving home now.

Glendann: thats what we are figureing. We just don't know what kind of male figure, since he seems to be getting used to my husband. Then when my 17 yr old boy (who's tall) walks in, chip runs away and hides and sometimes start shaking. Almost wonder if it would have been some older teenager abused him. Well we'll just give him time-he'll come around with some patience.

Chip sure is a cutie! It doesn't look like your other dog is too happy about all the attention Chip is getting. Do they get along well?

What a handsome pair of Shelties. I hope Chip settles down well with you and becomes a member of your 'pack' soon. If only dogs could speak then it would make things so much easier for a new owner to know how to help them.

Chip is such a beautiful thing. I bet he is easy to love. We are big fans of the "dog whisperer." He has a lot of great advice to get things going smoothly.

His expression on his face is so sweet and trusting. He has the look of my girls when I am feeling loved by them. Chip's face says he is happy and loved.

It's always a challenge bringing an adult dog into the house. We adopted a 4 year old golden retriever several years back, and after an adjustment period she became the best dog we ever had. Because of her, I'll always have a golden in my household (our other dog is a Newfoundland, and he's our third one). You can't be a fussy housekeeper with all of their hair, but I wouldn't trade them for anything. Keep us posted on your experiences, and have fun with your new addition!

Hi Kasey. Chip is getting more familiar to us and likes to play now. We let him wonder about while we had our company over Christmas. He seemed to do well around others. He also seems to be getting to know his name. Its been a good decision to bring him into our family.
