This is what I keep busy with in the winter. I love taking a part of a plant, putting it in water-waiting for it to root. Then it becomes a new plant. Here are some of what I've done.
this a from a africa violet. You can kinda see small roots at the end.

This was the mother plant:

Next is a new offset of a begonia plant and the mother plant will follow.

next is a offset of a white butterfly plant with roots with the main plant to follow.

This is my new geranium plant:

These are my geraniums, the big pot in the back-this spring will be its 3rd year and I set these out in the yard in the summer.

This last one is a new Christmas cactus plant, it already has a flower on it.

I also have a white Christmas cactus I will be posting later in the month when it comes into bloom.
I also have many, many, spider plants and offsets that hang from the plant. I have so many of them that I haven't been able to replant them. This is the way I keep busy during those dull winter months.
I posted these in hopes to inspire those who may be having a hard time getting thru winter months. Lets keep our heads up, spring is just a few more months away.

My indoor plants get a lot more attention in the winter too Petunia. I have a few cuttings started from a Bougainvillea and a Sweet Potato Bush. I'm not sure how it will work, but I've also got 3 cuttings from a Butterfly bush in water. A little closer to spring I'll pot up my Canna's, 4'oclocks, Dahlia's, Begonia's and start some other cuttings. And start some seeds too Smile
This is going to be a long winter...it doesn't officially start until next week and we've already had a month of winter weather!

I always seem to have new 'babies' on the go here. I'm just waiting for my Venus Flytrap to finish flowering and then I'm going to save the seeds in the 'fridge for a few weeks before planting them up. I always get so excited when seeds sprout or cuttings 'take' and so do my friends as I tend to give my excess away. Very Happy

You are so good! I've enough of a struggle to keep my existing plants alive, so I rarely propagate unless someone ask me specifically.

Hey!... Nice job with those cuttings, Petunia. You´ve been really sucessful.
I have only done cuttings from my pepino plants. They look ok so far...but they are not out of the woods just yet...and some christmas cactus plants.

Thanks for your comments. I really enjoy doing these cutting and seeing them grow. It keeps me busy until I can start seedlings inside.

Stew Face 1 I enjoy starting new plants from a cutting. That's often how I get my plants from neighbors. We have a little garden club and a bunch of the ladies swap cuttings especially the really unusual plants. Stew Face 2

Great job, petunia!
I love to start new plants from cuttings, divisions and offsets -
my hubby calls me "the mad propagator". Rolling Eyes
