Here is a list of plants that are poisionous to cats. Chinese evergreen is on it.

My cats love their grass. Cat grass is usually rye or wheatgrass, i forget which. I've also grown regular grass seed you'd use for the lawn. They love it. My cat Skinny will chew on anything green thought. He's even chewed the srtificial christmas tree needles!
