I tried to add this suggestion to another post but it was closed. I use this all the time when I cook fish or anything smelly.

What I do is put some white vinegar in a small pan on the stove and add the dried cloves and simmer. Sometimes I add some cinnamon too. You can put this into one of those simmering pots but I tend to forget to check those all the time...so it is safer for me to look at the stove and notice if something is still on.

I have also put this mixture in a canning jar and warmed it....(DO not BOIL it here now)... when I was in a hurry and needed things to smell better real fast. It all depends on how your microwave heats so I won't give a temp but just warm it here..please do not boil the mixture in here for safety reasons...

I think this really takes away the bad smells of course you have to like the smell of cloves....

Enjoy...no measurements here...experiment with the amounts...depends on pan size , etc...

Thanks for the tip Sherry. I hate the lingering smell of curries and cooked fish around the kitchen so will try it out. Very Happy

I much prefer the smell of cloves to the smell of yesterday's cabbage.
