|
I planted raspberries in the summer of 2006, I don't think I cut them at all because they were very small and hadn't produced any fruit yet. This year many raspberry plants came up and produced some fruit. Some of the plants became very tall. I didn't prune them back in the fall. Is has since snowed, is it too late to prune them back for growth in the spring? Any help with this would be great!
Thanks,
Donna

It's not too late yet. Either late winter or early spring should be okay. Cut all canes that bore fruits last year because they won't have friuts again. Cut any canes that shoot outside your designated area. If you want your plant to fruit in fall only, cut back the entire raspberry bush in early spring.

I agree with nan1234, you aren't too late and should be fine pruning them now.

I thank you as well nan1234. I was wondering the same thing about my canes too. Thanks again.
