I love Marigolds and I use them all through my gardens. I don't even mind the smell. I like the different sizes and shapes of some of the heads. These are all from seeds I have collected through the years. Do you like them or dislike them in your gardens...?

So cheerful, great variety of Marigolds you have!
I love 'em . . . but they hate me. 
Now, I can grow orchids, which some folks would say are fussy,
but Marigolds are supposed to be easy, and I can't seem to grow 'em at all!

I really love having marigolds in the garden as they are such striking colours, tend to be resistant to a lot of bugs and diseases, can be used as companion plants and are as tough as old boots. A 'must have' for me every year!!!

Yes indeed... I always have some in the garden, usually the veggie garden tho, as they seem to ward-off aphids.
I plant them around edges or in between. I have had all colours and heights.
These tall ones grew to above my knee and had huge, raggy heads.

I always make sure to have some Marigolds as well. I tend to pick the yellow ones most often...I always look for "Little Hero".

Lovely photos! I plant them in between the roses to keep the bugs away. They cheer me up, with the bright colours.

I always have marigolds also,, they are so good for plants(bug prevention) an also good for the skin. I use marigolds an calendula for making skin salve that heals wounds an keeps the skin soft, and also found out as an accident when going out in the boats or in the garden if you have some on your skin the flys an little nats won't come near you. if it works for plants why not us........

Sjoerd...I love your marigolds..I have not seen them around here..I will keep an eye out for them. Soil conditions make a difference and climate to the size of a plant. I have noticed I can't grow things I truly love here as I did when I had sandy soil in the last yard.

I love merigolds. I ususally put them in a big pot with mixed flowers. The bright yellow and orange flowers just cheers all the others up.

I like them too!  For some reason mine are not all that hardy They don't stand up to frost and the earwigs really enjoy them. I love the way they smell, very "earthy". I plant them every year, can't imagine a garden without them.

Those are very pretty! I love them, I didn't get to plant any last year, but I am planning on planting them this year. I read there was a certain type of Marigold that was best for using as a insect repellant, is this true? Or just any Marigold works fine?

I like that they withstand all sorts of weather and are beneficial in the veggie garden too. Not a must have flower for me but I wont say I hate them either.

Sherry, those pics are beautiful. I always have marigolds and usually select the yellow because they are so bright and I mix them with other plants. But I am not crazy about the way they smell

You know, you can change the structure of your soil. If it doesn't suit you or your wishes, do a little look-around and read about it. No one has to stay stuck with the soil type they have. It is possible to alter it to a drgree.
I will see if I still have the seed pack for those marigolds and get back to you on it if I do.
