Here is how I spend the long months till spring.. I am doing sewing, not sowing.. Here is a cape I made for lil Haley and she grew out of it so fast, the doll is using it ...I like it.
PS Haley has a large pink one now.

Enjoy..

That is a very nice cape. What fabric did you use for it? Do you make doll's clothes as well, or do you sew for children only?

You must show us more of your work Barb. The cape is very pretty. I make cards to while away the hours during winter.

I think it is called Fleece.....You use it for warm tops and zipper jackets or even winter coats.
Soft and fussy like......Warm.

I made the doll also. Some lady sent me the pattern for the doll.. I had the head and hands for years and one lady on seed swap gave me the pattern.

I have made clothes for it and others also barbie doll clothes......

I sew for me, husband, son, till he married.....Dressy and casual.....

Seamstress for years..

wow, it looks so cozy! I've been thinking about tackling one of those for DD, trying to relearn how to use this intimidating machine.

Wow, I'm so impressed! The doll is lovely, I didn't think you made it bsewnsew. Sewing Barbie clothes sounds like a lot of miniature work, and far too patience trying. I wear fleece clothes all through the winter. They're soft and warm.

ROFL! My maching is a 1937 Singer! I learned to sew on it at Grandma's house, my brother had it all fixed up, and now it sits on my sewing table wondering whatever happened to me. Wish I had grandma to consult with! (I really have no excuse, was able to download the original manual off the net!)

Embarassed Embarassed
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

One person sewed gift bags for christmas..
take 2 pieces of rectangular material.....sew on 3 sides .
Let the top open..And she took pinking shears to make the top zigzag.

attach a ribbon on one side, about 3 inches down. Put in a small gift and tie.?

You can do it.

LOL Mr. Green

You have a point there as far as the climate goes, Barb. I live in the South and we've been having record summers. Today was over 75 degrees outside. Sometimes I wish it were warmer so that I could wear cozy clothing like that.

OK, I used the original manual which I downloaded over the 'net and actually managed to thread my machine and hem a curtain from years ago, so there's how I spent this rainy afternoon! O, and having whacked myself in the face for the last time on a low-hanging apple branch, I pruned one of my apple trees. Wrong time of year and all that, but goodness, I have to pass under it every day to care for my bunnies and that rude branch just had to go!!
