We have a brand new holiday here this year. February 18th 2008 will mark the first "Family Day" in Ontario.
Do others have a day like this and when is it celebrated?

I love those suggestions for Family Day activities, especially the second list. I hope it becomes a really fun holiday weekend for our Canadian Stewies.
Is that sculpture in the picture real? I love it. Randy traveled for work a lot when Amanda was a baby so that was 'us' every weekend for about a year

The Canadian Government decided that going from New Years to Easter without a holiday was to long, and so decided to give us a new stat holiday called Family Day.,

Thanks for the link Kaseylib. I just read thru the comments left on the bottom of that page and can't believe people are complaining about spending time with their families! You think people would be happy to have a day off.
I for one welcome a new holiday!

OOH YIPPEE
Congratulations to all the Canadian Stewbies. Wish I was Canadian.
I think the idea of a family day is just great - all countries should have one.
Have Fun
