9 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa + 3 Tablespoons butter
1/2 cup butter, softened
3 cups flour
3 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
2 teaspooons vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts) optional but not as good without them.
Melt the 3 Tablespoons of butter, mix in cocoa until smooth...let cool.
Beat sugar, eggs, softened butter, milk and vanilla well then add chocolate and mix.
Add dry ingredients, mix well.
Add nuts.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 min
makes 2 loaves
This is wonderful warmed up spread with cream cheese

Any bread made with chocolate is O.K. by me! Sounds wonderful, and I'll definitely give it a try.

Toni, do you melt both butters to mix with the cocoa?
This would be wonderful with a raspberry sauce.

Sharon sorry for the confusion, I amended the recipe to clear that up especially since I forgot to include that the softened butter was beaten together with the sugar, eggs, etc.
Thanks for catching that
I don't know about the raspberry sauce, I am probably one of the few people around who doesn't like raspberry
