Any one have lots of knowledge on Hybrid veggie seeds?
All I know is if you pick the seeds, and plant them , they aren't true.......Now do they taste and look just as good or not, if your planting seeds from them?

I would think it would depend on the vegetable. They will revert back to one of the parent plants from what I understand. Taste is a personal thing, so can't say if it would be good or bad.

One lady fished me for a lot of seeds for Hybrids, then after we traded I see they were hand picked by her............
Not hybrid..........
That is why I wonder.........they arent to be labeled hybrid if they arent.

A hybrid variety has at least 2 parent varietes. Possibly alot more. But any variety crossed with a different variety is a hybrid. Even if you self pollinate the plants, there is no guarantee the plants will look the same next yr. Probably pretty similar though.
If you want to grow varieties that will come true to type from seed, they need to be listed as Open Pollinated (OP), Heritage or Heirloom varieties.
