|
I'd like to introduce you to Libby our newly adopted 5 year old Beagle. We got her from a man recently divorced, working 2 jobs and just feeling guilty he could not spend the time on her she deserves. My partner and I are both on disability so we have lots of time for her!
She is really a great dog...not too barky (only when there's a moose close to the house), she knows and obeys basic commands and learned how to use the doggy door the first day!! What a good girl...
This is the first small dog I've ever had. My past dogs were shepherd mix, husky/wolf mix, and lab/newfie mixes. I really like big dogs; but I'm getting used to Beagle size (medium/small) Her poop is a lot smaller than my big "babies"! LOL
Anyway, I just wanted to show off my new girl.

I imagine it's quite a big change for a 5 year old dog to move home but I'm sure she'll feel at home with you in no time coolalaskan. Beautiful beagle.

I have a grandbeagle, he and my daughter live with us. He is really rotten, beagles make excellent pets, except when they chew the coffee table and sofa. Libby is very pretty.

What a nice-looking dog, CA---I'll just bet she'll be a good pet for you.
You mentioned having a husfy. When I lived in alaska I had one as well. I bought it from the folks that ran the Eureka Summit Roadhouse between anchorage and valdez. I always stopped there when i travelled that road for a bite to eat and a game of pool.
It is there that I rode my first snow machine...after that, I was hooked. I used it to get around town and take little trips in the winter. To be honest, I loved the speed as well.
Thanks again for showing the pics. Such a nice-looking dog.

It's great to take in an older dog. We did too, and she was a wonderful addition to our family. Are you getting ready for the Iditarod? We've got friends in Nikisski and have visited them there...AK's a beautiful place.

What a cutie. We always had Beagles when I was growing up, my Dad loved them. They are very good people dogs.
Their voice is called a 'bay', half way between a bark and a howl.
Being hunters of small game they will follow their nose and wander away if they are outside a fence or off a leash so you do have to keep an eye on them in that case.

We always had beagles growing up, too. I see she's already found a "bed" for herself. They are smart little dogs. dooley
