i have 3 lilac trees here, one is so special, aunt hedvig and her husband each planted a lilac plant,60 yrs ago, when they was getting married as part of the ceramony. those 2 are a real dark pink an smell so good... the other one is a real pale purple almost white its so pale. not as much fragrance but still pretty to look at.

Lovely lilacs, I can almost smell them! We've got two, a white and a pale lavender, but no photos. I'm wishing for a purple with white edges, and a pink one.

I have 4 or 5 little bushes I planted when we moved into this house 5 years ago. I get a few itty bitty blooms but that's about it. Can't wait till they get great big like Wrennie's Stew Face 1 That is my ultimate landscaping goal, get huge lilacs to cover the fence and block the neighbors ugly yard.

In that second picture all of the low growing green is baby lilacs from those parent bushes. Come on over and bring a shovel and help yourself.
Those are pretty old. I assume they were planted around 1960. If you believe in fertilizers they like Espomas plant tone. And I've found the colder the winter the better they bloom in spring.
