Wanted to share How to Force bloom ..
I cut these Forsythia bush branches off about 7 days ago, and you see the results.. Blooming.
All you do I do is cut branches off and put them in plain ole water indoors and here are the results.
Anyone else do this with shrubs or bushes ?
thanks

I've always wanted to try that! How big were the buds on the bushes when you cut them?? Right now mine are under about 3 or 4 feet of snow

We do that too, especially with birch twigs, but also forsythias and daphne. It's like a little peek of spring, even though spring's still far away. I'm generally successful with birch from late January onwards.

Very pretty - I love forsythia but lost mine when we moved several years ago and I have never replaced it. Maybe it's time I think of getting a new bush.

That's nice to see, B !
That was a great idea to post that. That bush is one of the first to bloom here. Several branches in a vase make the perfect thing toi hacve in your home during this period.
You did a great job!
