I have a very large living room (14' x 28') but am in the process of redecorating. My question, the house had cream vertical blinds that go from wall to wall 14'. Are these outdated? I have considered putting up a rod above the vertical blinds and hanging a valance with colors to add some contrast to the room. I might add that the carpet is a 60's color light blue. I would like to change the carpet, but it would be too costly right now because I have other decorating to do in this room. Thank you for all your help
