OK, so today I stepped into my wellhouse, where I keep the cans with rabbit & chicken food in them. I've known for sometime that our local red, native squirrel was getting in there so when I saw a plant saucer full of nibbled fir cone remains, I thought little of it. Then I noticed a bit of a trail leading behind some stored stuff. So I pulled it out. In a fit of being tidy I cleaned everything out from under the shelves in this shed; Mr. Squirrel took full advantage of this apparently and there was enough fir cone remains under the bottom shelf to fill a 5-gallon can to overflowing!! Well, I'll tackle the squirrel invasion later, but I'm curious-
Squirrely shredded a bit of fiberglass insulation to pad & enhance the giant bed of cone bits. I don't want to just fill my garbage can with this concoction, but am wondering if the fiberglass renders it useless for laying in the garden? I garden with gloves anyways, but is there some problem with it that I should be aware of?
The squirrel is getting less cute by the minute. Fat ol' thing. Sits up on his branch chittering at my audacity in using my wellhouse for my own purposes!
