|
I turned on my laptop recently and I was presented with just a white screen. I thought "it must be loading something " so I gave it a minute. Then I got impatient and I started to tinker with the screen, tilting it. Suddenly the contents of my desktop jumped onto the screen. Looks like there is a faulty connection between the screen lid and the base which is affected when I tilt the screen. This means that I essentially can't (or shouldn't) close my laptop for fear that it will die completely.
Better start BACKING UP then!

Oh dear Frank that certainly doesn't sound too good. I hope you have better luck than I had if it has to go in to be repaired.

I'm thinking about investing a new one anyway so it's officially 'on the way out'. I built GardenStew on it so it will have sentimental value

Oooohhhh, when it is finally retired make a garden ornament out of it.
Paint a picture of flowers on the screen, find a tree stump or smallish table to mount it on....maybe put a small garden chair next to it....if the table or stump top is large enough set an old tea mug next to it too.
I just love oddball garden ornaments

Hey that's a great idea Toni! I must make sure I salvage any working parts out of it first (DVD drive, hard disk etc...) Or maybe the birds would like to listen to some music I dunno...

We had some cactus wrens who liked music. They would dance around on the patio roof when music was playing. Brian called them Bing and Bob. Cactus wrens are comic birds. We used to love watching them. None at this altitude though. Dooley
