I got this link in a email newsletter from Burpee Gardens. All these years I have been a fanatic for snow and now I have proof that snow is a good thing Very Happy

Very useful link! Thank you Toni. The article is spot on when describing the snow as a duvet. I'm preparing for the fact that some of my tender plants are gone because of the barefrost and winds this winter.

Come April, I'm outside fertilizing if we get a snow fall. The plants won't burn and the snow helps dissolving and distributing the goodies.

I always shovel my porches off onto my gardens for extra protection. We had had a lot of snow this year, but also a few complete meltdowns followed by flash freezes. I'm expecting a few casualties this spring Sad

Toni, are you going to build a snowman and show him off? How much snow does your area have. I have been watching CH 8 and the pictures they are showing are gorgeous. Wink

Nowhere in Dallas county got more than about a half inch of snow, the 8-9" happened up along the Texas/Oklahoma state line.

I got a few large wet flakes but none stuck. We got a trace of sleet this morning and about 1.5 inches of rain but no snow.

Everything has moved off to the northeast so the fun stuff is gone.

The pictures were pretty but most of it melted pretty quick.

Now there we have it and I am so glad about it too.
Not only is snow a lot of fun to play in - it is also good for soil.
I especially like the duvet simile. Cool
