Its been Awhile since i have visited the garden stew but today I needed some help and knew right where to go.
I bought 4 blueberry bushes from sams club yesterday they are 2 yrs old and bagged. I need to know if I have to wait for the frost to end and how to take care of them until I can plant them. I live in zone 5.

If there are no leaves on them yet go ahead and plant them.

If there are new leaves and you get a frost, it will kill them and set the plants back a bit.

One other thought for jim - they will be stronger if you strip off the blossoms this first year and keep them from setting berries. It's hard to do (oh, how good those berries sound!) but it makes the plant put more energy into its root development instead.

If the plants have started to leaf out, wait until you last frost date. If the buds are still dormant, you can plant them now, zone 5 and up. Be sure to add plenty of blueberry food, or good organic sulfur to acidify the soil in each hole. They need acidic soil to do well.

Never heard that about taking the flowers off the first year! Good to know!
