I heard this on the radio yesterday and had to try it out. An easy way to get rid of the smell of onion , garlic , horseradish from your hands is to wash your hands in water using any stainless steel object ( spoon , fork ) as a type of lather. The smell disappears immediatly Rolling Eyes Not sure of the science but it works Cool Bugs

Just read this interesting article Why do onions make you cry?. It also contains some interesting solutions e.g. holding a piece of bread in your mouth while cutting the onion.

It works to just run your hands around in your sink if you have a stainless steel sink too - I have no idea why, but it does.

For onions I just cut them in the sink, under a trickle of water and it works great. Cool

I have no idea either what kind of reaction the stainless steel sets off to get rid of the smell of onions but it really does work!!! I wash the knives I've used after cutting onions and my hands never smell oniony. Very Happy
