A friend loaned me a wonderful DVD boxset a few days back called 'The Private Life of Plants'. It's a BBC series presented by the one and only David Attenborough and it's an absolute joy to watch. It contains 6 episodes, each one covering a different aspect of plant life:

- Travelling
- Growing
- Flowering
- The Social Struggle
- Living Together
- Surviving

I'm halfway through watching it and I can't wait to watch the rest. Has anyone seen this series?

I saw the television series. So interesting. It is excellent. I did not realise that it was on DVD as well. I guess that I should have a look on Amazon for the prices. There are some excellent gardening and wildlife DVD's available from the BBC that's for sure.
Personally, I like everything that Mr Attenborough has done. He's a unique and good presentor, I find.

Yes, I saw the series, and immediately afterwards bought the books. I had to get them through an English book club, because I was too eager to wait for the Norwegian edition, if there ever was one. This was way back when before internet was widespread, mind. I didn't know there were DVD's, but now that I know I'll find them. I loved that series!

I've never seen or heard of that series. I'll have to find where to order either the DVD or book or both.
