Well I spent Good Friday with the grandsons. They rolled down the hill most of the morning. Tyler, aged 2 years, rolled sideways . . . he was quite funny. We went to the Circus Hall of Cream and had hotdogs . . . it was very windy. We then came home, and walked around in the yard for awhile. I had to scold them for climbing in the Rose of Sharon shrub, as I was worried it would break under Erik's weight.
Then I hid Easter eggs . . . then I forgot where I hid four of them . . . I told Erik that I believe this could be quite a challenge if I even played this game by my self. . . As I frantically searched for the last egg, Erik asked me why was it important that I find it . . . I did not explain that it was to prove something to myself. . . so we finally found it.
Later we had Easter dinner . . . early due to Adam & Karen's schedule.

Sounds like a great time SongofJoy! That cake looks sooo good!
I've never seen such a large Rose of Sharon - that's amazing!

Yes . . . kinda . . . I took a store bought angel food cake, and cut it in three layers . . . then I took a small box of instant vanilla pudding, a 20 oz. can of pineapple, undrained, and mixed it together, and added a cup of whipped topping, and mixed well. I put it between the layers, and chilled it for an hour, and then put some strawberries on top. (Mine was a bit messier than the one in the magazine, but tasted good. . . I think pound cake would have been better, as the angel food cake was awfully sweet.) Thank you for the compliments.

Never mind the food, let me at those strawberries! After I've rolled down the hill with the boys, of course. I haven't done that in ages. That cake looks absolutely delicious. Enjoy your Easter celebration.

mmmm- strawberries! Happy Easter to all - I'm off to buy flowers for the church service tomorrow. Usually everyone just brings them from their yards but with it so early this year there isn't much out there yet - just daffys, mostly. Have a wonderful weekend!
