Sorry to be a bummer - but the down side to a prolific blooming tree is the horendis mess they make. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing like seeing a street lined with purple blossoms, but you don't want to have to park underneath them.
The sticky flowers get tracked into your car and house. Not only do you have to clean up after the flowers, but they will drop their leaflets and the sticks the leaflets grow from. They grow all over Southern California and I think they are from South
America (Brazil?). I know people who love them and those who just hate them. As for me, I love them from a distance in other people's yards.
