Hi, I have many large (30 inches round)tree stumps in my yars that I would like to get rid of. They have been there for many years now and are half rotted. Is there something I can put on them to make tham rot faster?
I have broken them up with an ax but what isd left is to strong to break. Thank you for any help and enjoy this lovely day. Very Happy

You can drill several deep holes in the top of the stump, fill the holes with sugar or molasses and cover the whole stump with a thick layer of mulch.
The microbes love it and it aides in the decomposition of the stumps.

Maybe you could rent a stump grinder.

I agree with toni on this. But I wouldn't use sugar as it may draw ants, molasses on the other hand doesn't.

Well . . . like they say . . . when life gives you lemons . . . make lemonade . . . I would save a couple of them, and fill them with rich dirt from the woods, and used them for planters . . . put wild violets in them . . . My late grandmother did this, and they were just lovely!!!
