There are three trees in line on the side of the road and one on the other side.It looks like a persimmon
leaf as best as I can remember but I can't ever remember them having lilac blooms .I hope someone here can help ID it.These trees are very tall 30 or 35 foot maybe even taller.

Can you get a closer shot of the blooms? My first thought is Chinaberry. But its hard to tell with the distance shot.

Looks like a Chinaberry to me too. Is the bark of the tree greyish-brown and have vertical streaks of redish-brown that look like cracks in the bark? And in the fall does it have large hanging clusters of golden colored 'berries' the size of a dime on the ends of 'stalks' that are sometimes 12 inches long?

My first thought was China Berry but I have them here and never had purple blooms and never seen then that tall as I will back off and show you how tall. Then in the pictures it reminds me of a presimmon.I will watch for the berries .

We have two Chinaberry trees that are well over 40 feet tall. Ours haven't started blooming yet, but the flowers from what I can see in your picture are exactly like the ones on my Chinaberry.
Take some closeup pictures of the leaves and flowers if you can, that will help us more than a distance one.
