The American goldfinches or yellow finches are changing color or moulting. The males that is..the females stay the same. The both look basically the same in the winter here but in the spring the males start changing. I am not sure how long it takes but they are not the prettiest in the change.They are a beautiful yellow when the change is done.

These birds look fantastic, Sherry. What a beautiful colour. Your collections just get pretier and exotic-er.
You lucky thing, you have a wonderful variety passing through there, as well as a supurb group of residents.

We have lots of different species that are 'going through the change' at the moment too Sherry. It won't be long now until they're in full breeding colours. Stew Face 1

Those are great pics. We have lot of gold finch here and I love the summer when they get so yellow. Thanks for sharing.
