It opened up this morning, it is one of 5 buds on that stem. I hope that they will eventually all be opened at the same time but having never grown Amaryllis I don't know if that happens or not.

It's adorable! I've grown them indoors and usually all buds have opened eventually. I love the stripes, it looks as sweet as candy.

Toni it is beautiful. I took a picture of mine today...a bright orangy-red. A neighbor is moving and told me to dig up what I wanted. They were about to bloom, so I was afraid they might not bloom till next year. But low and behold, I got enough of the roots, that I don't think they realized they have a new home!!! Blooming like crazy.

I have only ever seen them in pots inside. I didn't realize people grew them outside. Do they survive in cold areas? dooley

Stewies taking a long nap,,,in the cupboard. but i think if he knew there was a pretty pink thang in texas like that, he would wake up real fast! (but he's still a child so were going to let him sleep a while more,,lol)
But that is one gorgeous flower,, like cotton candy color.
