Lovely colours Sgt but I know nothing about coral snakes so would have to leave it to an expert if I ever found one. Mind you the only way I'd do that here is Scotland were if one was to escape from a pet shop or someones home.

We have a few poisonous snakes in our area, but most are harmless. Last year I was startled by a garter snake that was sitting still in my strawberry patch. He scared the "h" out of me when I bent down to pick the strawberries!

They're very pretty, but I thought they were very poisonous? Or is that the one that looks like a coral snake? I wouldn't have touched any of them, just to be on the safe side.

I can't remember the rhyme, even though DH has told me a million times. He's from FL, where they have many poisonous snakes. I just stay away from them all, then I don't have to worry about it. Being from NE, it's never been a concern of mine. When I do travel to FL, DH always has to remind me to watch where I'm stepping.
He is really nice to look at. All those nice colors. Nice pic SgtBaldy, thanks for sharing.

The rhyme to ID a Coral snake as oppossed to a scarlet kingsnake is.....
'If red touches yellow, it can kill a fellow' (coral snake)
'If red touches black, it is a friend of Jack' (scarlet kingsnake or scarlet snake)

I am so glad that I moved out of our last area...every day just about we had pine or garter snakes...just scares me when I am gardening and down on their level...I had a couple in my house so I am not a snake lover...even though they are beautiful..thank you for sharing..

Pretty colors, but you can keep it...
Thankfully we don't have snakes here on the island. No frogs, snakes, crickets, grasshoppers, preying mantis, rats,,,,,,just to name of few,,,
But we do have plenty of flies and mosquitos!!
