It is a little longer than a ladybug, not as round shape either, the shiny blue is it's wings. There are several on the White SkullCap. I have been doing Google searches but have not found it yet, anyone recognize the little critter?

I don't know the name of it but it looks like a beetle and you know that their larvae do damage below ground most of the time. I say that because the leaves of the plant does not look damaged. Keep an eye on the area for plant injury. The bug is actually pretty. Two or more at a time mean they must reproduce in mass. Hope some one can help you and solve the mystery.

Thanks for the reminder, I have spent many hours there looking up other bugs but forgot it this time.
I did just find the ID, it is the Shining Flea Beetle and Skullcap is one of it's host plants. I planted three small Skullcap plants last fall, sure didn't take the little guys long to find them.
Now to find out any info about what their purpose is, other than to eat Skullcap?
