Category: hobbies for profit | Posted: Wed Oct 28, 2009 5:00 am ok, i just uploaded some pics to my garden. there was this caterpillar on one of my foliage plant. by the time i found it the plant was just twigs without its leaves. and i got the name of the pink powder puff. it is calliandra brevipes of the mimosacaea family. this problem of uploading pic to the blog is still there. i cannot do it. picture of the month
Category: hobbies for profit | Posted: Sat Mar 07, 2009 5:21 am hello everybody, thank you so much for selecting one of my flowers as picture of the month. that is high recognition,and i am so delighted. lots of flowers are blooming now. even the roses are coming out. most of the plants are so delicate, the flowers are bending down that i have to give them support. this is one plant which has flowers like crossandra, but the leaves and structure are different. someone please identify this. a new venture
Category: hobbies for profit | Posted: Wed Jan 28, 2009 9:55 am I don't know where to start. ok, i was busy with something wonderful. for the past three weeks, we were preparing to participate in a horticultural flowershow conducted in connection with the republic day of India, Jan 26th. we wanted to show our bonsai and other foliage plants to the public. a lot of work went into it, since it was the first time ever. we participated in the home garden section and had a stall for the exhibition where we could display and sell some of the plants. there was a good response for my bonsais. and guess what? they gave me a second prize for the home garden and a third for the stall. i am really thrilled. now that we have a name, we are going to be busy more than before. I will add some pictures here. I thank all you guys for encouraging me and supporting me. you really gave me confidence.

Category: hobbies for profit | Posted: Wed Oct 22, 2008 7:47 am when i talk about my garden i have to say that i have been very fortunate in having enough water throughout the year. we have a well which takes care of this. then i have made a vermi compost tank, which is able to give me manure sufficient for my patch of garden. since i live on the western coast of india, the summer is very hot and humid. and we get good rains. winter is practically nil. well, let me try once more to put some pictures in. greenfairy.

welcome to my garden
Category: hobbies for profit | Posted: Thu Oct 16, 2008 6:37 am hello everyone who started a garden as a hobby, then got stuck where you do not know what to do with all those plants!
