The First Step is Admitting You have a Problem

Category: Work in the garden | Posted: Fri Jun 15, 2007 12:28 am

Hi.
My name is Chitweed,
and I'm a Hydrangea-holic.

I know because when I start with Hydrangeas, I can't stop at just one.

I keep going...

and going...

and going.

I have a problem. Yesiree. When I came in from taking Hydrangea pictures today, and I had 35, and most of them were from separate bushes. It hit me. "Chitweed, you need help."

Is there a 12 step program for Hydrangea-holics? Is it cold turkey for stopping?

Is there a patch?

Will I go through a withdrawal period?

I hope it doesn't take too long to get through it all...

...Because after I'm cured of the Hydrangea-holism, I need to work on my Day Lily-itis. I might be suffering from Hosta-fever, I get a little warm when I'm around them. I know I have Chronic Garden Fatigue.

Well, at least I've made the first step in admitting there is a problem. I'll get the phone book out tomorrow, to look for help groups after I plant the new Limelight Hydrangea I bought today.

Oops.

Well your first step to recovery would be to divest yourself of the items causing the addiction.
I will gladly assist in this step by taking #'s 2,4,5,8 and 11 off your hands.

I am sure there will be others here who will gladly assist you to the best of their ability also.

Honestly I don't think you really want help for this problem. I know I wouldn't! LOL I only have 4 hydrangeas and like the other guy says I'll take em off your hands if'n you really want free from them. They are so beautiful!
But I say let it all go lose yourself to them you are so good with them. LOL

I'm intrigued, have you put your finger on what makes you love them so much?

Ok I guess I don't want to get rid of them. :)

A good photograher? Thanks Critter... but I am so impressed with the photos I see here at the Stew I'm not sure why I bother. I wanted to capture a spider I saw. I followed her everywhere. She was too fast & I was too slow, in the end she was a 'fuzz' on about 10 pictures. But thank you any way. :)

Frank: I'm intrigued by your intrigue-yness. :) I can't put my finger on it myself.

If I had to narrow down my Hydrangea-holism to a few reasons they would be:
1. The wonderful blues you get with a lot of Hydrangea, I love blue flowers.
2. The impossible size of some of the flowers. Incredible! They are a fertilizer salesmans dream I bet.
3. They bloom for a very long time. Each flower and each bush blooms a long time. With the variety available I have hydrangeas from May - September.
4. And maybe the last reason, is I didn't get enough attention from my father when I was little.
:) Just kidding.

You are such a kidder Chit.

All of your reasons are good ones. You could sell a Hydrangea to anyone with persuasive talk like that :)

I've never seen one before...they are beautiful!! have you ever heard of these...of course you have....what's there name?
