Rain, Rain and more Rain
Category: Arizona Weather | Posted: Sun Aug 05, 2007 4:39 pm The monsoons have arrived! It has been raining every afternoon and sometimes through the night. I have been busy puting out mosquito granules in any water I can't dump out. Those little gems work so well. Things are really taking off...including the weeds, which isn't so bad. My birds love purslane and there is a lot of it. I hate the puncture vine though and there is a lot of it too. Trying to pick it all before the stickers get here but it is impossible. If there was a market for it. I would be rich! This blog entry has been viewed 89 times

Sorry to hear about all the rain, know its hard to garden when it is like that. Wish you could send some my way. I can't even remember when it last rained here. More then 3 weeks ago . right now the water bill is more then the house. lol But I spent to much time planting to let it die so what do you do
I hear you. I can't complain about the rain tho this is about the only time of the year we get consistant moisture. I just don't like the bugs that come with the moisture.
Ladies I think you should both move to Scotland as there is no lack of rain here at any time of the year!!! LOL Our 'summer' was a fortnight in April and since then it's been tipping it down almost every single day. I must admit the garden is certainly looking lush but how I long for a few weeks of decent sunshine again before the shorter nights creep in.
We are going into a 3 day dry spell. My yard is finally dry enough to cut in most places. I had to laugh at the puncture vine story. We have what we call hog thistles here and they have very sharp stickers up and down the stem and on the backs of the leaves, we say the same thing about them. Login or register to leave a comment. |
