Bye-bye Christmas

Category: Ramblings | Posted: Mon Jan 12, 2009 5:30 pm

Tomorrow is the 20th day of Christmas, and if everything hadn't already been cleared away, then that was the day to do it. We were busy tidying away and getting back to normal on Friday, so no stress for me.

We've still got a blooming Amaryllis, can't tidy away that:

During the last snowfall our robin came to visit. He's very good at making lots of noise to let us know that he's running low on food:

I think the robin is one of the most christmassy birds, but I'm not tidying him away either.

As I harvested the Christmas tree, I took a few photos of the ornaments. Here are the paper hearts that we make:

Different ornaments:

The holly one is my favourite. Only 11 months to go until we unpack them again.

Your ornaments are so pretty! We put Xmas away a few weeks back and hopefully next time we have to pull it out it will be a bit more organized. Always fun looking for that 'one' thing in 10 different bins while wearing a hat, coat and gloves in the attic!

Your Amaryllis is gorgeous! I have one that has been coming back for me now for two years. I litterally have done NOTHING to it. I let the leaves brown and dry up and keep it watered but not saturated. I thought they weren't supposed to come back again? I could be wrong.

I love your hearts, Droopy. Sounds like you're hesitant to put your pretty things away. I'm glad you kept the Robin.

Heh heh heh....I like that fat little robin.
The Amaryllis is really looking good. Very robust. I have the tip of a leaf in my bulb that just pushed-up 2 days ago.
The tree decorations look very nice.
Those hearts are especially nice. You guys have a knack for making nice decorations.

Thanks for sending these fotos.
