Raccoon Family

Category: Critters | Posted: Sat Oct 13, 2007 1:07 am

My boyfriend's folks live next door, and since they have a number of outdoor cats, they set traps to catch unwanted food thieves. They caught a raccoon, pulled it out of the barn, and returned a short while after to this sight.

Seems she was a mother . .

But no worries, they made sure to catch them all, gave them all a healthy snack of cat food, drove them out of town and released them.

I've heard that they can be quite a pest in towns, but I find them irresistably cute!

Your photographs are fantastic. The only time I've ever seen racoons is on the TV. I'm so glad they were taken out of town and released.

The racoons don't bother me, I let them have the left over cat food the cats leave, which usually isn't much. They don't chase the cats away like the neighbor dog, we had to raise our food table 8 inches up to keep her from chasing the cats off and eating their food. Glad they were released safely.
