Seedlings, I am shocked!

Category: New Yard | Posted: Mon Jan 21, 2008 10:40 pm

I started seeds last Thursday in Jiffy Windowsill Greenhouses. The tomatoes, basils, mints, eucalyptus, blue fescue, parsleys and white cannas are already popping their heads out! Its only been three and a half days.

I was anticipating at least 10 days to see anything coming up. Guess I'd better get started on that greenhouse I have plans for!

Mother Nature always has pleasant surprises for us doesn't she? I hope all your seedling grow strong and healthy for you.

Thank you Eileen and Netty. I hope they don't grow so fast they can't wait for the great outdoors!
I've never had anything germinate so quickly!

I am anxious to see this new white canna from Park Seed.

I will be starting seeds in February too. Do you use seed starting mix? I throw my seed trays under the waterbed (it has a pedestal) so the little guys get a nice warm spot to start and then when they have sprouted they go to the basement under flourescent lights in my greenhouse.

Kratz7, mine are just started in the Jiffy pellets now. I will have to transfer them to 4 inch pots before planting season.

Lol,

I think I need to get my act together and get something planted. I feel like I'm going to be running behind.
Pennsylvania has 6 more weeks til Spring, according to punxsutawney phil, he did see his shadow. Go figure on a cloudy Winter's day.

Well, that will give me time to get things started. Do you plant alot of flowers for Spring?
