Water tank installation
Category: Water Tanks | Posted: Sat Feb 02, 2008 9:58 pm I bought a slimline water tank and have have been doing research on what base to put it on. I've looked at dirt, gravel, sand, packing sand and concrete. But because the water tank is so heavy once it's full with rainwater, I think I'm going for a concrete base. The only trouble is that the concrete base is the most expensive. This blog entry has been viewed 127 times

but you would only have to pay for it once...would be more than worth it in the long haul! And cheaper if you do not have to continually replace it! "Solid peace of mind" comes to mind!!
What is the tank made of? I used to work at a water tank construction business. If it is steel, then you do not want concrete as it will react with the steel and eventually cause rust. In that case use crushed rock or gravel in inch and a half to two inch size aprox. use a ring around the gravel to make it deep enough for rain water etc drainage. dr Login or register to leave a comment. |
