So Many Cherries, So Little Time

Category: Pianolady's Gardens | Posted: Thu May 28, 2009 3:51 am

It's going to be a bumper crop of cherries this year from our two cherry trees, thanks to no late frosts, and plenty of rain. Only problem....last year was also a bumper crop and I've got at least 20 pounds of cherries left over! Hopefully the family won't tire of cherries, as we'll be eating a lot of them. Cherry cobbler, cherry brownies, cherry jam, cherry pork chops, cherry pineapple juice, cherry chocolate malts, and of course my favorite....cherry pie!

Cherry Cobbler from allrecipes.com
I liked this recipe, is very easy. Use less butter, more cherries on this one.

OR how about me coming over and helping you eat all those cherries? Next to honey mangoes cherries are my favourite fruit.

Dear, oh dear, oh dear......I wish that I lived around the corner from you---I'd come begging at your doorstep. :-)

I love cherries I wish my attempts at getting a tree growing well would happen. You are so lucky.

How about dried cherries? They are incredibly expensive at the store, but easy to dry at home...and as good as candy! Drying intensifies the flavor.

I forgot to mention...In the winter, just when you are beginning to really miss fresh produce, you'll have the dried cherries(or cherry wine!)to ease the pain!

LOL lulu, I like the idea of dried cherries, I'll have to look into how to do that! Droopy, I'm also going to have to look into cherry wine, I've got plenty to practice & could possibly find a new hobby.
