Cherries, and more cherries, and more cherries.....

Category: Pianolady's Gardens | Posted: Sat Jun 20, 2009 6:29 pm

So where did I disappear off to now? Picking cherries. This is the week we do nothing but pick cherries. We have a beautiful crop this year due to no late frost and consistent rain.

Then we pit cherries. As labor intensive the whole process is, it is still worth it. The Norpro Deluxe Cherry Stoner does a pretty good job, it can be found on places like Amazon or eBay. So far, I have 16 pounds of pitted cherries, with a long way to go...

Those look delicious. They are a beautiful color.

I could get rid of lots of those cherries for you very easily. I LOVE cherries and would probably make a real dent in the 16 pounds you've picked. LOL

They look like little jewels and they make my mouth water. I love them best in cherry pie.

Seeing all those cherries reminds me of my youth. My step-father had a cherry tree in the backyard and would send me out with a basket to pick some. I ate more than I picked. : )

Yum,
I wish that we had success with growing cherries. I love them
