Roses in bloom!!

Category: My roses | Posted: Sun Jun 11, 2006 5:32 am

Oh! My roses are blooming and the neighbors are wondering what the heck I'm taking all the pictures for!! They just laugh and go on their merry ways. I love the pale yellow one with pink on the edges. If ya'll know the names of each rose bush, please tell me cause I don't have a clue!

This rose bush is my favorite. If ya'll know the name, please let me know!

Here are some different rose bushes. Sorry about all the pics, but I was pretty excited to share with ya'll!

I needed to cut the dead heads off, but I took a picture before I did anyway..

New buds, sorry they are blurry

Hopefully I will have more blooms to put on here in a few more days!!

Very pretty collection Heather. I'm sure when PinkieRed sees this entry she will be able to help you to name them ;)

I like your new rose avatar by the way!

The top is dead on for a rose called Peace. Its a Hybrid Tea. Look it up on the net and see if thats right. But it sure looks like a Peace to me.

The second one, is it more mauve or red? The lighting isnt so good so I cant tell the true color. It looks like my Crysler Imperial in its form. What is the scent and does it cluster in its blooms?

And the third one, it looks more aprcot than pink in the second pic of it but looks almost a hot pinkish orange in the first one. What is the scent and does it cluster in its blooms?

I just got the first red bush pic to load. Now its that bush the same as the next two pics? The one right after the one that looks like a Peace.

Very pretty roses Heather!! Man I wish I could grow roses!! They really don't like me for some reason!! (pouting!!) Looks like you have growing roses down pretty good!!

the third one is more apricot in color. I'll have to go out tomorrow and smell them so I can tell you what scents are. The only rose that is pictured that clusters is the first one that you said was the Peace rose. I'll try to get better pictures tomorrow if it doesn't rain.

Man, ya'll thanks for all the help! I really have no clue what they all are and boy.. ya'll sure are informative. I am so glad Julie told me about this website! Thanks for all the links Pinkiered. I hope my Peace roses look like those pictures on that one website!

From what I can tell, the Peace is alot like my New Years. Each rose can be different in color and they change colors as they age. I love "non uniformed" roses! LOL You know I went out yesterday looking for this Peace rose to buy! LOL Couldnt find it.

Ill work on finding the other names for some of your other roses.

Ok Ive narrowed down the apricot one to one of two (so far)This is for your zone, which helped alot. Take a look and tell me what you think. I dont have a
side pic to compare so I dont know if they are cupped, flat or stacked when they are fully opened also compare the leaves.
But below are of two. The first is called Marmalade Skies and the other is Fragrant Cloud.

I think the apricot colored one is the Marmalade Skies one. It looks more like mine than the Fragrant Cloud. I went outside today to smell and see about the cluster thing and on the first rose picture after the Peace rose, there isn't any clustering and I couldn't smell it because we had a storm last night and the wind and rain knocked all the petals off, but I will check again when another bloom opens. The color in the pic looks red, but it is actually more of a deep mauve color. The next pic is a hot pink color and has a strong rose scent and no clustering. The next rose pic is more of a lighter red shade, but not pink or hot pink. It has a light rose scent and no clustering that I can see. The next pic is of the one that we think is a Marmalade Skies and it has a kind of sweet, light rose scent and is apricot with pink tips on the petals and no clustering. THANK YOU SO MUCH Pinkiered! I would have never found out what the names were without your help! I hope my descriptions have helped you in looking for the names. If I can be more descriptive, let me know!

No problem sweetie! I love this stuff. I get to find all kinds of wonderful roses I never knew was out there! LOL

I think you did a good job at discribing them to me. If I need any of info, Ill just holler. Im off to look for the mauve one!

OK I looked but because theres so many different kinds of reds, hot pinks and mauves, I would need better pics of those three roses. What would make it easier to id them would shots of them ,
-as buds
-partailly openned
-full opened and a side shot so I can see the form.
-a shot with the rose and its leaves.

The leaves tell a great deal about the rose itself.

I would say start a IDing rose topic in the tree, shrub and rose section. This way you can post the pics without having to start a new blog on them.

That makes sense.. I will do that tomorrow. I really appreciate all the info you have given me. I took a couple of pics today, but when it stops raing, I will take better one. We need the rain, but it's not good when ya want to take pictures!
