Memorial Day Weekend - 2006

Greetings All,
Tom (my boyfriend) and I went camping over the Memorial Day weekend and had a wonderful time! It was the first time that we've been away together (we've been together over a year)so I was rather shocked when he actually showed up to go with me camping. He's known for backing out at the last minute but that's yet another boring story.

We went to a place that he and his family used to camp when he was very young and he has some wonderful memories of the place. To say the least, its very very beautiful there. Its called Lost Part, just south of Kenosha Pass in South Park Colorado. I'll try to find a link to it on mapquest and post here shortly.

We caught lots of fish in the little brook/stream that ran through the area and oddly didn't see many people, though we did run into his brother that he hadn't seen in 10 years (small world? coincidence??).

The photos don't do the place justice, but here they are nonetheless - sorry about the quality - I guess its time for a new digital camera....:

I bet you did have a good time .I love the area ,I just
wish I could see Colarado more .I flew in there and drove through on my way to Billings,Montana .I love out west .I enjoy Wyoming ,Montana ,South Dakota .The area around Crazy Horse Mountain is fantastic .I would love to go to the Badland but we didn't have anytime left .Want to go to Wounded Knee.
T really would love to camp out in Colorada and at Yellowstone Park.

Oh I loved Colorado when we went through on our way to see Heather (Glendann's daughter). We stopped at a rest area in the mountains that had a small creek beside it! You could hear it babbling and I just had to go to it!! I took off my shoes and waded in it. It was the end of August and it felt like I was walking in a tub of ice!!! It truly is a beautiful part of this country!!! i would love to go camping there, you are very lucky.
