This plant rules my yard
Category: Favorite plant loves to rule | Posted: Sat Jul 19, 2008 9:09 pm Passa Flora I know I have showed this plant so much but it amazes me at how it rules my yard this year. Its so dry here and it is thriving.I pull it up moow it down, weedeat it and one is on my cedar tree ,on my water fall figure on my headboard, and on my bird bath.I wonder when I will find it in my bedroom growing. This is my water fall statue when the Passion vine started up it.
This is it on my cedar tree and birdhouse is almost covered and my plumeria is under all of this.On the right is the headboard with my Moon Flower Vine and Passion Flower Vine.Moon Flower not doing good this year.
I hope you can see the vine almost to the top of the tree. The sad thing is its about the only thing in my yard that isn't dying .The grass is a dry crackly mess.I do have a few other things that are blooming but not many. I'll have to enjoy everyone elses.I do hope we get rain soon or my complete garden will be a thing of the past.
I hope you don't mind seeing this plant again. Last edited: Sat Jul 19, 2008 11:22 pm This blog entry has been viewed 702 times

I never get tired of photos, Glendann. That plant certainly has a mind of its own, but look at all the glorious blooms.
Gardengater took the words right out of my mouth. Just keep them coming.
Beautiful plant. What is it? One of the Wisteria plants on our land has taken over a large oak tree and the oak tree is now dead. We are going to have someone cut it down or it could fall across the highway in one of our wind storms(tornado alley here).
Gorgeous. I love the shape of the bloom. It is so dainty. Yea, it will be creeping into your bedroom soon!!!!!!
Will it kill other trees, or crack foundations, or inundate septic fields? Cuz I'd love to have some of that. Oh and how about deer will they eat it?
I have never had a problem with it here.I think it is the most unusual blooms and the scent is intoxacating. It is a joy to see it grow. The stem only gets about as large as a pencil maybe a little larger and is easy to break when wraping it to train its growth upward.
and it's called Passion Vine?
Its called a passa flora .I think thats how its spelled.
Oh and what about the deer?
I have deer but they have never come close to it.It is growing near my house but they eat my melon plants that are pretty close to my vines.
I had one plant that was to have red blooms on it but it died before it bloomed and in other parts of the country .there are yellow blooms and the wild one we called May Pops are white I'm not sure of all the bloom colors but would love to have different color ones.
