Camping out at West Yellowstone,Montana

Category: Camping Out | Posted: Thu Aug 24, 2006 2:15 am

As everyone knows I went to my daughters(Heathermt75)in Montana on my vacation.I had a great time while there.I really wanted to stay forever, but all had to end .The weather is much cooler than in Texas. We went camping to West Yellowstone,Montana. It was so cold at night this Texan almost froze to death.I had my sweats on and a jacket it was 36 degrees one morning.Almost as cold the other mornings.
I saw my first IMax theather. We saw Yellowstone and then Bears .Loved ever minute of it.I have some pictures to show everyone.

This was Heather and I playing around at the first place we camped at on our way.Notice the sun rays in the picture.

Heather caught me reading at the camp picnic table.

I really loved the river behind me.It had lots of rafters riding the rapids just past us.

Heather enjoyed it here too.

So did Trey a little to much :)
Oops boy was that rock slippery Papa .

We went on to West Yellowstone the next day and went fishing in Madison Lake
This is Richie and I fishing off the bank.

Trey had his own little Superman Rod and Reel.

Trey found his own little wadeing hole.He enjoyed this little spot so much.

Will do more later.

Glenda what brilliant photographs!! Neither wonder you had such a great time what with the lovely countryside around you and your family to share the fun with.
I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your holiday snaps.

Trey is such a cute little guy!! I love the scenery in Montana and I hope to be able to go back there again sometime and visit Heather and her family and of course Yellowstone!!! The pic with the sun rays is amazing!!! I'm so glad ya'll all had such a good time! I know you miss Heather and Trey and your time with them was too short!! But I know you are glad to be back home with your little Oreo and your flowers also!!

What wonderful photos! Montana really lives up to its name of 'big sky country', doesn't it?

It really is pretty here. We are actually going camping again this weekend. I don't know if ya'll have seen the news lately on CNN, but it was talking about the fire we have here in Billings. It's a pretty big wildfire, but from what everyone says.. we won't have to evacuate our home. The fire would have to jump across the Yellowstone River and burn down all of downtown Billings before it gets to our house, but it still is pretty scary. I'll post some more pictures as soon as I shrink them and put them in my blog.

Yes ,Pondlady it does live up to the Big Sky Country name .I just love the Beartooth Mountains going over that road from Cody Wyoming to Red Lodge through the Yellowstone National Forest is the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. All the wildlife and waterfalls it just fantastic.

It is just fresh clean air up there in those mountains.
The scenery is just breath taking Frank.

Glad you enjoyed yourself. I do like Montana quite a bit but have an aversion to venomous snakes! I saw a few out in that country. I feel much safer for myself and my dogs right where I'm at. Have you ever run across any?

Muddy I have never srrn a snake up there .We were all over the woods while camping and didn't run into any kind of animals at all.
There is copperheads here where I live now.
