A Walk Down Memory Lane
Category: My life a few years ago | Posted: Sat Sep 16, 2006 6:17 am This was so funny I couldn't resist. This picture brought back many many memories. The older male in this picture was one of the sweetest men I ever knew.He spoiled me terribly. bad.He was my mothers dad we called Papa.Mother said he was a really a rough dad but you couldn't tell it when his grandchildren came along. He wouldn't let us run in the house he was strict on that for sure. I remember his walking cane catching us around our foot and boy did we come the a halt :) I am the smallest one in the picture and jubabes dad is to the right just behind me.I loved Papa so much and miss him still. I had to laugh at my suspenders holding my pants up . :) The automobile behind us kind of dates me just a tad lol I just thought the automobile might interest someone on here. Frank I hope this pic isn't to large I haven't got the resizing down yet. The photograph is just the right size Glenda. Who are the rest of the people in the picture? I love seeing old photographs. You are sooo cute!! It's nice to take a walk down memory every now and again isn't it? They certainly made cars to last in those days didn't they? I remember a car my dad had and it seems to keep going forever and hardly ever needed anything doing to it.
Love the ricture I rememeber those cars so Iguess i dated myself also. I love to look at old pictures. Thanks
What a great photo Glenda! I love viewing these glimpses into the past full of memories. I have added a link to the full size image in your blog entry in case anyone wants to see it full size.
I love old pics. I have them of grandparents and ggrandparents.
That's a great picture Glenda. I love old pictures as well -- and yes I remember those cars, so guess I'm dated too!
Thanks everyone .I could sit for hours looking at old pictures .I do get sad sometimes but life goes onThanks Frank I will get jubabe to help when see isn't so busy.
I love this old photo!
I love to look at the old photos of our family!! It's funny to see you and Daddy as kids!! Papa passed away long before I was born so unfortunately I never got to know him! With that many cars and trunks in the front it had to have been a holiday!! I wonder what holiday? Since some of ya'll are wearing jackets and long sleeves it must have been cool. Maybe Easter?
Jubabe,It probably was Thanksgiving. We all got together on almost all holidays. The family usually swarmed to Uncle Walters and Papa's home on any can of holiday.Back then it wouldn't have been Christmas because it would have been cold enough for coats instead of sleeves. It was lots colder then than now in Dec.Jan.March and also really cool in April.Global warming has changed everything.
