A Saturday to remember
Category: Rainbow and Cold front | Posted: Sun Oct 15, 2006 6:29 pm Yesterday was a day to try to get some things going in my yard .It was a beautiful day a little warm but not to hot.I have had my gold metal headboard up in place for a while now so I started there.I turned the ground with a shovel in front app.4 by 5 I will add more to it later.I removed the grass and got everything ready to plant the ground.I planted the 2 dwarf Lilies of the Niles on each side of the headboard .I planted Black Diamond Tulips ,Ballade(wine and white) tulips, and double Angelique (pink)tulips. Then I started on an old bed that has the cacti in it changing and redoing it I added some Glad Blubs and plan on getting more bulbs to brighten it up some for this spring.I am going to make a new bed for all of my Amaryllis bulbs I cleaned around my rose bushes and I have to put new bark around them today.I haven't pruned them yet but will have to soon .They are still blooming now. I have 2 Confederate Roses that has started blooming these flowers are so pretty and big .My yellow cannas are blooming .The Zinnias are still blooming and so are all of my Angel Trumpets ,the Cigar Plant the Gardinia and the Mexican Petunias. My yard is really alive now even if it is fall with the big rain a few days ago and its sprinkling now off and on. I will try to get my pictures developed today if it doesn't keep raining as I have to take them to a 1 hour place out of town. I was so tired I wasn't sure I could crawl out of bed this moring .That shovel wore me out.My back legs and arms are so sore .I plan on getting me a new tiller for next spring. That just made my mind up. This blog entry has been viewed 120 times

Glendan, don't ever say that you do not work as hard as I do. You work full time and I only work part time and still find it difficult to get things done around here. Just made 10 jars of plum jam. Dooley
I only work 30 hrs but its considered full time.I find it hard to clean my house and work in the yard too.I need to do so must Dooley and I dought I get finished outside before a frost hits.
I've always done those things so they seem easy to me. We all have to do things that seem natural to us. Each have different talents. You can do things you like to do and it becomes easy with time. Having help makes it easier as I'm sure you know. Adjusting to life alone must be so hard. Dooley
Sounds like you got a lot of work done Glenda. I know how hard it is to work and still get things done around the house. My house is what suffers, it is a wreck. I have been working 6 days a week again so with only one day off not much gets done.
My house suffers also .I did some but oh so much more needed in my house.I will work Mon.and Tuesday and be off Wed.and Thurs. Maybe one day for house and one for outside :).I'm trying.
All of you work so hard. I stay on the porch in a lounge chair with my laptop and write and write some more. I do get to look at my brand new garden. I don't know how you do all that work!! Login or register to leave a comment. |
