well, we had only three days there, so we could see only a few places. but that was really awesome.
this is the elephant falls, which has 3 levels. itseems there was a rock in the shape of an elephant but it was destroyed in an earthquake in the 19th century. it is wonderful they have preserved these forests without pollution. we heard that the people of Meghalaya refused to have a railway line in the state to keep the place clean and pollution free.

you pay some rent and they let you dress up in their traditional attire and take pictures. these are some of their ornaments and weapons of the attire.

this is a view point from where we see miles and miles of hills and valleys. on the way to Chirrapunji, the place which gets the highest rainfall.

surprisingly, there are people living in the bottom of these hills.

It's a really amazing place to see and hear about. I try to click on the photos to see them in larger view, but Photobucket won't let me.

They won't klik to be larger for me either.
Well, from what I can see, they are quite striking fotos of the area there.
There is a place here as well--where one can dress-up in local costumes and have one's foto taken.

I really like looking at pics of faraway places -- these are lovely. I'd love to see them in larger format if anyone figures out how to do that. Thanks Greenfairy!!
