one more visitor!

Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Thu Sep 24, 2009 8:19 am

I am back after a long time. even though i make time to check the gardenstew, i don't get much time to write. the rains have come to an end - looks like it. we do get some showers with thunder and lightning. weather is fairly cool for this side of the globe. all the plants are fresh and starting to bloom. nice to be out in the garden.
we are going to be very busy with a jan wedding coming up.
I found a rare visitor in my garden on my morning rounds today. I am not sure from where it would have come. I haven't seen one like this here before.
if someone can name it I would be happy.

Hello GFairy--Very nice to see you back. Congrats on the upcoming wedding.

The moth looks like it could be a Eumorpha pandorus

That's a very unique-looking visitor. I hope someone can ID it for you.

Good luck with the wedding!

The moth looks like a little fat fairy to me :)

Beautiful moth, Sjoerd was correct it is a Eumorpha pandorus also known as Pandorus Sphinx Moth.

The lilies and hibiscus are gorgeous too.
