it's worth the wait!

Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Mon Feb 14, 2011 4:50 am

wow! i had to wait for two years to get one of these flowers to bloom again. when i bought this plant which i was told was called ripsalis - there were one or two buds on it. it bloomed and then nothing. last year, there were the beginning of a few buds, but some hoppers ate them up. so, i had to wait for another year.and..... here goes!

Well worth waiting for Greenfairy as they have such beautifully shaped and coloured flowers don't they?

However your plant is not a ripsalis as you were told but is, in fact, a Zygocactus - better known as the holiday cactus.

It sure WAS! :-)

Thanks again for your continued show you the lovely plants that you grow at your place.

I particularly like this one of the types. It is just gorgeous, GF.

With each flowering plant there is the expectation of blossoms. When they first appear we watch them more closely. Nature rewards us with the beauty of flowers.

Thank you for sharing your plants beautiful flowers with us.

Jerry
