Yeah For Daylilies!!!!!!!!!!!!

Category: Flowers and Vegetables | Posted: Wed Dec 27, 2006 3:52 am

I got something to begin looking forward to for spring. While browsing the reduced Christmas goods on my lunch hour today, and being bored by it, I went outside onto the patio at the garden center. There, kinda hidden to one side, were 2 big displays of bulbs, still shrink wrapped. Me, being the nosey person I am, but only when it comes to flowers, went and had a look. I saw at least 6 different daylilies. One display was behind the other and all I could see on it was the top row. I am going back tomorrow and see if maybe they have opened them. The only one I had ever heard of was Pardon Me, a red rebloomer. There was a beautiful two tone lavender/ purple. Can't wait till payday. LOL

Oops, as you have guessed Sharon did not make the checkbook comment, I did. Maybe I should burn the checkbook.

See Glenda, I did you an invalueable service by letting you know about the daylilies. Glad I could be of help. And don't worry about the checkbook, I've got the debit card. LOL

I'm off to our local B&Q tomorrow to see what reduced plants and bulbs they have. Then it's a trip to the garden centre and WalMart - this is the only kind of shopping I really enjoy - garden shopping!!! I hope you get loads and loads of bulbs Sharon. Just remind Richard they're CHEAP!!!! LOL

I am in an unusual situation here.....I can buy from the growers because I still have my hort license and will continue to renew it. That means I overdo it everytime I want a plant. You guys buy one, I gotta get 18 because we have to buy by the flat.

Yes, it's a happy time to start thinking of the garden. I got some gourd seeds and am tickled to death. Hope you get a bunch.

Tee Hee, You go girl and thanks for the info .My plants are triving in my little box green house .I just finished watering them and I do have blooms.I took pictures yesterday of my Christmas Cactus all three
are blooming one yellow and 2 pink.I was suppose to have a lilac and red one not 2 pink .Oh well they are pretty anyway. My verbena is blooming and my black pearl pepper is still making. Not much blooming but some.

Sounds as if your little greenhouse is working fine Glenda.

Jan, you really do have a dilema, but it sounds like a good one to me.

Eileen, happy plant shopping, it is the best kind. I have decided to forego my evening snack on my 15 minute break and go it the garden center every day. Good exercise as it is on the other side of the store, plus I won't be getting the extra calories from the snack.

Bethie, I am planning on getting seeds started on my next days off. It is time for a fix. LOL

I am excited as well - my first garden catalog came yesterday. Unfortunately no time yet to look at it.
